The usual entry price is £14, but we have arranged a group discount so that the price becomes £10 per person. Payment will be due in advance, and we will send details on how to pay nearer the date of the trip.
For those who haven’t been to the National Space Centre, it’s certainly well worth the visit. There are 6 galleries, which include the iconic “Rocket Tower” (which houses the Blue Streak and Thor Able rockets, as well as the Gagarin Experience and Apollo Lunar Lander). Our ticket includes entry to a Planetarium show at 11.10am, and a “3D Simulator Experience” (whatever that is!).
For those travelling by car, the National Space Centre is located just off the A6, two miles north of Leicester City Centre, midway between Leicester’s inner and outer ring roads. There is a large car park, which costs £3 for the whole day.
Alternatively, Leicester is easy to reach via train. We would suggest catching the 08:26 train from London St Pancras, which arrives in Leicester at 09:29. If you are buying a train ticket in advance, you can get some very good deals. It would be easier to get the “PlusBus” option (which costs £3.50), so that you can catch the bus to the centre. You can catch First Bus 54 from outside Leicester station, which runs every 10 mins throughout the day. The journey is around 25 minutes and the bus stop is only 2 minute’s walk away from the National Space Centre.
There will be some Flamsteed members on the 08:26 train, so we can all meet up at Leicester station before travelling on to the National Space Centre.
If you would like to attend, booking is essential. We are limiting the group size to 30 attendees initially, but this may be adjusted depending on the response. Details on how to pay the £10 entrance fee will be sent later.
