Received the following picture of Comet Lovejoy from Martin Male, taken in Romney last night.

    Absolutely beautiful.

    Taken with a Canon 60Da at 1000 ISO through a Williams Optics f7 110mm. 5 minute exposure.

Oh indeed, mesmerising! There seems to be more layers on the coma around the nuclei Then i have seen anywhere elsle. was that his 14inch revealing all that stunning detail or his refractor, I wonder.  (Edit: reading on mobile and clearly not properly, its his refractor)And that tail is really dispersed.

Great stuff, Martin. Definteley a showpiece for Andy’s astroimages show 🙂

Yes, it was through Martin’s 110mm f/7 refractor. Martin tells me that there are no modifications to the image, apart from increasing the “black point” in Aperture.
