If you would like your user name to be associated with a profile picture, you need to set up an account on Gravatar.

Make sure that you use the same email address that you used to create your account on this website.

Your Gravatar is an image that follows you from site to site appearing beside your name when you do things like comment or post on a blog.

Simply go to the Gravatar site and click on “Create your own Gravatar“.

Tried to set up a Gravatar account, but when I got to the preview page (after downloading the photo) the preview bases were empty. Then I tried to ask Gravatar what the problem was but their contacts page was “closed” and I was directed to their forum. A search produced no answer to the problem. Any ideas?

Hmmmm… that’s rather irritating. I don’t really know I’m afraid. I didn’t have a problem setting up Gravatar, but it’s possible that they’re having some system issues.

I think most people on the Forum haven’t set up a Gravatar, so don’t worry too much about it!
