Trip to the Herstmonceux Observatory

We are very happy to announce we are planning a trip to the Castle and Observatory Science Centre (OSC) at Herstmonceux, on Saturday 7th June 2025. It is several years since we last visited, and very sadly this may be the last opportunity we have to visit, as the future of the Observatory is unfortunately under threat (more on this below). This will be a full day trip with lots to see at the Castle and the Observatory, and with the option of coach transport from/to Greenwich. The trip

First we will visit Herstmonceux Castle for a group tour of the castle and the grounds. We will have the opportunity for a very special group photo in front of the bust of John Flamsteed in the Elizabethan Garden and by the giant sundial inaugurated in 1975…
