We are pleased to announce that we’ve been able to arrange a visit to the ROG astronomy reserve collection which is at the Kidbooke store. The store has lots of fascinating objects from across the history of astronomy and they’re not normally on display. Many thanks indeed to Dr Rebekah Higgitt who has organised the visit with the store manager and will be leading the tours on the day.
The visit will take place on the afternoon of Friday June 7th. Places are quite limited – we can only take two groups each of maximum 10 people. The first group will begin just after lunch and the second around an hour or so later – we will announce exact timings when we know your degree of interest. Also, when we know who wants to come we’ll arrange lifts from the NMM or other suitable local pick-up points.
We know that a weekday afternoon won’t suit everyone, but we hope this will be the first of our visits there – the next will most likely be after the summer, in September/October time. This one is our ‘toe in the water’ so to speak.
Please contact us as soon as possible if you’d like to come.
